A Training School on Uncertainty in Engineering will take place from 2 to 6 July 2018 at

Durham University (Durham, UK). This is one of the activities in the EU-funded UTOPIAE

There will be 10 2-hour lecture sessions, introducing key topics such as Bayesian statistics,

imprecise probability, reliability and simulation, followed by more advanced topics towards

applications. There are also several further activities, including key skills sessions on aspects

of publishing and academic careers. Details are available on

This school is open to everybody, the main target audience are PhD students and other

career-young researchers. We will assume knowledge of mathematics as normally

attained in a UK undergraduate degree in Maths, Engineering or related topic.


We have managed to keep fees low, at 80 GBP including refreshments and lunches.
