Call for Papers: Case-Based Reasoning and Deep Learning (CBRDL-2018) Half-Day Workshop @ ICCBR 2018 Stockholm, Sweden 10th July, 2017 Important Dates * Paper Deadline: 13th June, 2018 * Paper Acceptance: 25th June, 2018 * Camera Ready Copy: 2nd July, 2018 * Workshop Date: 10th July, 2018 Recent advances in Deep Learning (DL) have helped to usher in a new wave of confidence in the capability of artificial intelligence. Increasingly, we are seeing DL methods outperform long established state-of-the-art algorithms in a number of diverse tasks. In fact, DL has reached a point where it currently rivals or has surpassed human performance in a number of challenges e.g. image classification, speech recognition and board games. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum to identify opportunities and challenges for the use of DL techniques and architectures within the context of case-based reasoning systems. Similarly, the workshop would also be interested in use of the CBR methodology applied to DL. Accordingly, we expect to draw interest from researchers from a number of related areas including Case-based Reasoning, DL and Machine Learning. We expect that this diversity will allow us to identify and address the challenges in the field, and to consider where our efforts, as a research community, could be focused. Topics * [o Cognitive modelling o Conversational CBR o Textual CBR o Temporal Reasoning o Mixed initiative CBR o CBR applied to Deep Learning] All Deep Learning approaches applied to CBR, including but not limited to: o Feature representation o Similarity and retrieval o Adaptation o Case-base maintenance o Dynamic systems o Systems and applications Workshop Submission & Format Submissions are invited in the form of full papers (8 - 10 pages in length) and short papers (4 - 5 pages). Papers should be in Springer LNCS format.
