Dear Biochemists
I have been approached a primary care/industry consortium with an interesting question (that sounds awfully like an FRCPath exam question) – “We would like to set up a mobile liver disease screening programme
– what laboratory technology and test should we include”. Now, beyond the obvious regulatory and QC issues and the probably preferential argument for aligning with local laboratories rather than the “mobile lab”, I would be very interested, as a thought experiment,
on what the collective view might be on the sorts of tests, considerations and technology might be - applicable to the screening of liver disease in a mobile unit (that already has an MRI and Fibroscan apparently).
Happy to provide more detail and background to those interested.
Regards,
Gary
