Just to say Yikes to Jean Goodrich and others. Next term, almost certainly
my last, I'm doing a course on wit and humor in the Renaissance and I'll
try to find some Spenser to include. This thread is worth printing and
showing them to prove that Renaissance scholars can make you . . . cringe?
laugh? appreciate? enjoy? admire?
