Hi Brigid,
At the University of Brighton in the School of Education I run the Assignment Support Team. These are student peer mentors who offer half hour individual sessions with students
(in the year below them) to support study skills. These sessions are either face to face or by Skype/facetime and sometimes by phone with email too. The virtual sessions work particularly well with our part time work based learning students who want support
in the evenings or at weekends and for our distance learning students. The peer mentors are paid on student ambassador rates. The scheme was built on the back of PASS which we also run on some courses, but the AST is available to all students across all year
groups and postgrads too.
I am copying in Louise who is the lead peer mentor.
