The Department of Literature and European Languages at the University of Oslo is pleased to announce the opening of a PhD position in Renaissance Italian Literature. The closing date for applications is 31 May 2018.
Potential research topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- the development of literary genres in relation to classical and vernacular antecedents;
- the commentary tradition and exegesis of texts;
- sixteenth-century literary criticism and the building of a canon;
- philological practices and the circulation of texts in various environments;
- issues of authorship and readership.
Applicants must have completed a Master's degree in a relevant field of study and should have an excellent command of Italian and English.
