What's on offer: * A full ticket for the CILIP Conference in Brighton covering both days (4th - 5th July) including access to both days of the conference, lunch, refreshments and all sessions. Early Bird Cost would be £280. * Up to £250 travel expenses to cover accommodation / travel The CILIP Conference<http://cilipconference.org.uk/> is the annual flagship event for the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and one of the biggest events in the calendar for UK library and information professionals. The conference brings together library, knowledge and information professionals from all sectors of our profession from the UK and overseas, to meet, learn and share knowledge. It's a great chance to catch up with colleagues and make new connections. Keynote speakers<http://cilipconference.org.uk/keynote-speakers/> include Penny Young, House of Commons Librarian and Sally Walker, Scotland's Library and Information Professional of the Year who will be opening the conference which aims to showcase the best of British Librarianship. They will be followed by John Chrastka and Patrick Sweeney of EveryLibrary talking about their ground-breaking work in the United States. How to enter: The Prize Draw is open to any HLG member. The winner will be picked at random from all valid received entries received prior to the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 18th April 2018. There are three distinct ways to enter, and HLG members can submit one entry. Method 1 - via Twitter Send a tweet to @CILIPHLG of up to 280 characters saying why you would like to attend #CILIPConf18 and remember to include #HLGbursary for your entry to count! One entry will be accepted per twitter account. All entries will be checked for validity to ensure that the entrant is a current HLG member. The chosen winner will need to confirm that they are able to attend and will comply with the HLG terms and conditions prior to confirmation of the award Method 2 - using the online form Complete your details on the online form at https://tinyurl.com/HLG-CILIPConf2018, including a brief statement of up to 280 characters saying why you would like to attend #CILIPConf18 Method 3 - using Facebook Post a brief message on the HLG Facebook Page<https://www.facebook.com/cilip.hlg.9> (of up to 280 characters) saying why you would like to attend #CILIPConf18 and include #HLGbursary for your entry to count! All entries will be checked for validity to ensure that the entrant is a current HLG member. The selected name will need to confirm that they are able to attend and will comply with the HLG terms and conditions prior to confirmation of the award. The lucky winner will be asked to actively share their #CILIPConf2018 Conference experience, before during and after the event (i.e. tweet, blog, etc. so that any members that cannot attend can follow the event or read about it after the event). The winner will also be requested to write a brief conference report for publication within the HLG newsletter. The prize is non-transferable and the ticket can only be used by the prize recipient.
