Hi Andrea,

On our last Institute-wide surveys we got 79% response rate in 2015 compared with 63% in 2014.

We think the increase was partly thanks to us showing the % response rate for different parts of the organisation (in our case, for different research divisions) in the reminders to complete the survey. This prompted a level of healthy competitiveness. The email reminders also came from senior management – which also helped.

Best wishes
Vanessa

Subject: Survey responses rate

Morning everyone,

I’m currently looking into response rates for staff surveys and would be interested to learn how other institutions have fared.

It would also be helpful to know if this rate has remained consistent, or whether there has been an increase/decrease recently.

Finally, if you have seen a marked improvement, what would you attribute this to?

Please feel free to answer as much or as little as you wish, any input will be greatly received.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards, Andrea
