The Dementia Imaging Genetics (DIG) lab at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) has a postdoctoral position in neuroimaging research of neurodegenerative diseases. The fellow will work closely with the PI, Dr. Suzee Lee, to develop novel imaging approaches to neurodegenerative diseases, including frontotemporal dementia, primary progressive aphasia, corticobasal syndrome, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The UCSF Memory and Aging Center is the largest cognitive and behavioral neurology center in the United States, and has extensively recruited research participants for two decades. Neuroimaging research will integrate our rich, multidisciplinary datasets to study the clinical, anatomical, and neuropathological correlates of disease. The ideal candidate will have expertise in neuroimaging and interests in applying neuroimaging techniques (such as fMRI/DTI) to clinical populations. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to ongoing experiments and pursue self-directed projects within the lab’s area of investigation. The DIG Lab at UCSF studies brain networks in patients with genetic neurodegenerative disorders and their presymptomatic family members by developing and applying novel multimodal functional and structural neuroimaging methods, including task-free fMRI and DTI. Research recruitment is supported by an extensive network of collaborative research projects at the UCSF Memory and Aging center, and large datasets of archived functional and structural MRI data are available for analysis. The DIG Lab is highly integrated with several other neuroimaging labs at UCSF (Seeley, Gorno Tempini labs for example), which provides a rich scientific and collaborative community. We are looking for creative, motivated, fun people to help improve the lives of our patients and families. Appropriate areas of doctoral training include, but are not limited to, neuroscience, psychology, or computer science. Strong computational skills are preferred.
