medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
PhD RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT: please distribute!

The Humanities Faculty at the University of Bergen, Norway has given me a PhD research fellowship linked to my next project, on Birgitta in medieval England: job announcement link here with more information about the parameters of the project. The position is in the English literature section of the Department of Foreign Languages.

If you know of any strong former or finishing MA students who would like take up a very supportive 4-year PhD position - annual salary of $56,000/ £36,000 - with reasonable teaching opportunities, please put them in touch with me. I can tell them more about the larger project and advise on their proposal, which should be seen as a starting point and will be further developed after the position begins. The University of Bergen offers a thriving medievalist community as well as a beautiful city and landscape, full of culture and with strong flight links. Students of any nationality are eligible and have the option of learning Norwegian but are not required; the entire country is basically bilingual.

N.b. the deadline is soon - 30 April.

Please forward or post anywhere relevant! Thank you in advance.

Best wishes
Dr. Laura Saetveit Miles
