The Live Cinema Summit 2018
8-9 June at Sheffield Doc/Fest
 
In 2016, King’s College London, the University of Brighton and Live Cinema UK held the world’s first Live Cinema Conference in London. We are delighted to announce the return of this meeting of international industry practitioners and academic researchers as the Live Cinema Summit, held at Sheffield Doc/Fest this June.
 
The Summit, extended for 2018 over two days will feature will address the field of live cinema: film screenings augmented through live performance or immersive elements, including site-specific locations, technological intervention and digital participation.
 
The Summit programme will include 
·       Panel sessions and workshops with international filmmakers, artists and academic experts in the field of live cinema, with themes including archive and live soundtracks; technological innovation in audience interactivity; exhibiting virtual reality projects in cinemas and galleries; licensing and intellectual property and more to be announced.
·       Behind the scenes artist and producer talks reflecting Sheffield Doc/Fest 2018’s live Film and Alternate Realties events; 
·       World premiere live cinema performances each evening
·       Networking reception to meet industry and academic figures specialising in the field.

With over 3500 delegates attending Doc/Fest over its 6 days, accommodation space is likely to run out in April, often before the festival’s programme announcement. We invite interested parties to purchase passes and accommodation as soon as possible.
