De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History (CATH) research centre invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following doctoral bursary schemes for studies commencing in 2018/19:


• Full bursary scholarships (covers Home/EU fees and stipend of £14,296)
• Fees only scholarships for Home/EU applicants
• Fees only scholarships for International applicants

We are looking to support timely and original projects that have clear potential to develop the research culture in an aspect of Cinema and Television History.
CATH supervisors have particular research interests and welcome PhD applications in the following areas: women's film and television history, British cinema, Indian cinema, Italian cinema, cult cinema, heritage film and TV, adaptations, the 1960s counterculture, silent cinema, film ephemera and material culture, cinema audiences and memory, cinema exhibition, documentary theory and practice, archival and oral histories, screen performance and star studies.
