Hours: Full-time

Contract type: Fixed-term – anticipated to be until the end of February 2019

Grade 6: £28,098 - £33,518 per annum

THIS POST COULD BE CONSIDERED AS A SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford is the largest university library system in the United Kingdom and its combined library collections number more than 13 million printed items, in addition to 80,000 e-journals and vast quantities of materials in other formats. The Communications Department takes a leading role in audience engagement, and digital platforms represent some of its primary channels.

We are seeking a Digital Content Editor who is passionate about creating great digital experiences for our users and who will enjoy managing content across a variety of digital initiatives. You will work within the Communications Department to help plan and deliver award-winning content across the 35+ main sites at www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk. You will also coordinate digital content for new sites and projects, including major exhibitions and events, interactive exhibition experiences and digital signage, as well as monitor the impact of these activities. You will help support our 100 local web editors throughout the Bodleian Libraries, and will help the Libraries manage a major redevelopment of their websites.

You will have well-developed communication skills, professional experience of creating and maintaining digital content, and experience of working in HTML and CSS.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover post, anticipated to be until end of February 2019.

Benefits include 38 days leave (including bank holidays and fixed closures), extensive training and development opportunities, access to travel schemes, free entry to colleges, discounted access to sporting facilities and a wide range of other staff discounts.

Please discuss secondments with your line manager in the first instance, as you must have their agreement that you can be released for a secondment before you submit an application. For more information please see: http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/personnel/recruit/secondments/

Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a basic DBC check as well as a financial background check. The possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. CV’s will not be considered.

Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (GMT) on Friday 23 March 2018 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place in w/c 9 April 2018.
