Managing Student Behaviour [Ref.TG4/MSB]

12 April 2018

This event will examine approaches to managing student behaviour supportively and collaboratively, while maintaining an appropriate environment for learning and teaching support.

 

User Experience – Understanding the notion of the User and applying UX techniques [Ref.TG3/UserEx]

17 April 2018

Donna Lanclos joins staff from Anglia Ruskin and Kingston University to explore UX case studies, Cognitive Mapping and user experience techniques.

 

The M25 Annual Conference: Engaging Users

24 April 2018
The 2018 AGM and Annual conference will take place at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and will be focussed on auctioning feedback, enhancing engagement and user experience. The conference is a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with your colleagues from other institutions.

 

Supporting staff and students with mental health disorders [Ref.TG2/Supp]

27 April 2018

This event will provide examples of case studies on how libraries and the information sector can support the mental health and wellbeing of students and staff.

 

Aspiring to Leadership [Ref.TG4/Aspire]

May 2018

This 3 day course throughout May is aimed at managers with some experience who are looking to move into more senior roles and/or lead on specific projects. Offering practical exercises, case studies and an opportunity to interact with current practitioners in the field who have a proven track record of successful leadership.

Speakers at this event will explore the role of libraries in supporting open scholarship, outlining the context of open scholarship, open access and open data; libraries’ roles in advocacy, training, and in maintaining repositories, and the skills and experience needed to enter into this growing area.

In this fast-moving environment they must acquire technical expertise and keep up with developments in the way teaching and learning is delivered in the digital environment.

All academic libraries now realise the importance of actively obtaining student views about their services. Many have conducted UX research, which uses the techniques of ethnography to explore how users experience library services and spaces.
