Hi Ellie
I would think that the first thing you need to do is contact the publishers of the resources you want to offer. Your email seems to assume that you can allow this group of students
access to the resources and it’s just logistics, but the Terms and Conditions of the licence agreements we have for online resources are to cover our own on-campus students with the general extension for when they are at home and also for distance learning
on our own courses. Anyone else would be “additional” and therefore the publishers may say yes, may charge you extra, or may just say “No”.
Sorry to put a damper on things but have been dealing with partnerships for a long time now.

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Affiliate access to online resources
Dear all,
We’re looking at the possibility of getting access to some of our online resources for a limited number of users from an institution that’s affiliated to us, and wondering how what would be the procedures to obtain this access.
Looking at the Jisc Collections Decision Tool, these users are not included in our HESA return, all of them either doing or teaching a PG Cert. They may be in the UK or overseas. The students are not treated as part of Sussex students
and we don’t provide any online resources specifically for them.
This is essentially a validation arrangement covering relatively small numbers of students in comparison to the size of the institution. The usage would be restricted to small numbers of postgraduate students.
I’d be very grateful if any of you could tell me how you go about dealing with the practicalities and technicalities of access for this type of user, what issues you’ve encountered and how you may have gone about overcoming them.
Thanks in advance
Ellie.
