Dear All,

A Postdoctoral position is immediately available in the group of Mikael Elias in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota, USA.

The research at our lab combines structural biology, enzymology, bioinformatics, and microbiology (http://www.eliaslab.org/). The successful candidate will work with bacterial signaling. Project involves identification of enzymes, characterization, structural studies, and microbiological studies to decipher the effects of enzymes interfering with signaling on bacteria. The ultimate objective of these studies is to develop molecular tools and apply them to study the importance of chemical signaling in single bacteria and in complex communities.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent track record and motivation to identify and solve scientific problems with creative approaches. The lab is hosted in the BioTechnology Institute, a highly stimulating environment, extremely multidisciplinary with extensive opportunities to gain expertise in cutting edge methods and techniques.

The Institute belongs to the University of Minnesota, founded in 1851 (https://twin-cities.umn.edu/). It is one of the largest university in the United States, and ranks amongst the most prestigious research universities in the world. The campus is located in the heart of the Minneapolis-St Paul (Twin Cities) area, an enjoyable, affordable place, extremely rich in cultural events and natural attractions.
