Hi everyone, Just a reminder of the CFP for the RA 2018 Conference: Romantic Empires; Romantic Identities. It will be held in Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands on 26-28 July 2018. It is a chance to consider many aspects of identity and empire in the Romantic era: including issues of minority identities in both the traditional and the newly forming European empires; Romantic images of ancient or distant empires, from Rome to China, Persia, Mughal, Ottoman; modern and Romantic theories of identity; the impact of imperial regularisation of language itself; changes in legal identity caused by French and American constitutionalism, and much more. The due date for proposals is 1 April.
