LMA will be hosting its second London History Day in May with an exciting programme of activities for families and adult visitors. The day will include:
Document Display featuring items which show the contributions of women to London in all walks of life. This is a chance to come face to face with women who shaped history.
Films from LMA's collections focused on women's life and work
Sign Writing Workshop led by Vg Lee and Mary Vasallo. Vg and Mary set up a signwriting business in the 1980s. Their archive will be coming to LMA and they will be sharing their skills.
Creative Expressions - inspired by Women And Power this is an opportunity to make puppets, badges, create images and write about dreams and ambitions for the future
Conservation - the conservation team will introduce practical activities and give an introduction to the importance of women to bookbinding
Exhibition - explore Picturing Forgotten London and join in a curator tour
Talks - these are happening throughout the day and include: Suffragettes, Jessica Huntley, publisher, campaigner and activist, Joy Conway and the United Synagogue and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson
