Hi Philippa I'd recommend the Infinity USB foot pedal, which you can purchase from Inquit Audio (you can get a discount if you're a member of the Oral History Society). http://www.inquitaudio.co.uk/foot-pedals.html I'd also suggest using express scribe transcription software for audio playback - http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html. You can use this software for free (using the 'hotkeys' function to stop/play/rewind/forward audio), however you will need to purchase Express Scribe Pro in order to use a foot pedal.
