Hello again.
If anyone is familiar with small mammals (I'm not), I've got a mystery
bone for you. (Two, actually). A tibia and metatarsal.

https://allisongrunwald.wordpress.com/2017/11/25/small-animal-surprise/

The proximal tibia doesn’t match anything I’ve seen, in photo or in
person. It’s somewhere between fox and raccoon, but neither of those.
The metatarsal is closest to canid, or really big hare. Both bones fit
the “small carnivore” bill as far as I'm aware.

Proximal tibia does NOT look like: gray fox, raccoon, rabbit/hare, cat,
dog, bobcat, coyote, rat.

Context: ~1860s Philadelphia; general dumping area including food waste;
possible cut marks on tibia, midshaft.

Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you.
