The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the Organic Analytic Laboratory at the Desert Research Institute are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to investigate the thermal stability of flavoring compounds. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on both experimental and computational aspects of the project. The main responsibilities include designing and performing experiments on thermal decomposition of flavoring compounds using various organic analytical techniques, carrying out electronic structure calculations and kinetics modeling of thermal decomposition of flavoring compounds, summarizing and reporting the data. Other responsibilities include guiding and advising graduate and undergraduate student researchers, and writing scholarly papers and grant proposals.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields
Compensation Grade: Postdoctoral Scholar
