medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Greetings all, I have an Icelandic reference to 'prayers pertaining to the passion of Christ, formulated/offered by the pope, with a great indulgence' which arrived in Iceland in the year 1330. Can anyone suggest what this might be? I am aware that there are plenty of indulgences supposedly from the pope but which are not, in fact, papal, and I suspect it may be one of these.
