Cataloguing the Royal College of Physician of Edinburgh’s Ballantyne Developmental Medicine Collection

Salary £28,568.
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh’s Sibbald Library (housed in historic premises in central Edinburgh) is seeking a cataloguer to work for 12 months on the uncatalogued and un-listed 19th century collection on developmental medicine
put together by Dr J W Ballantyne a pioneering specialist in ante-natal care. The Ballantyne Collection is a specialist historical resource containing approximately 3000 items which are bound together in 126 buckram volumes of varying sizes.
You will be educated to degree level and have experience of rare book cataloguing to national and international standards using an online cataloguing system. An ability to work independently and meet deadlines with a high
level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential to the role.
