Hello All,
We are hoping to get better data about resource usage by Faculty/Dept when our new identity management system is in place. This would allow us to pin point the level of use for ‘generic’ resources by Faculty/Dept.
I know we’ve had plans in the past to look at who should contribute to subscription costs via this route. Has anybody else based their splitting of the costs to actual use?

Hi Sarah, it’s not ideal, but in the past I have done it based on FTEs in the Programme / School / Faculty etc.
This also helps with annual TRAC reporting from Finance.
Best wishes,
Jason

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Splitting the costs of multi-disciplinary resources
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone is, or has tried to, split the costs of multi-disciplinary resources, e.g. if you take a resource like ProQuest Central, what percentage of content relates to business, what percentage relates to education etc. and what
does that translate to as a percentage of the overall cost of resource. I’ve been by our finance department to consider this model for our resources budget and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Best wishes,
Sarah
