It's difficult to know which of these records will include books though. She is particularly interested in the theme of literacy in the Medieval Period (1300-1500) and wants to research the ownerships of book collections i.e. who owned collections, did they use them for a particular purpose, did they lend these out to others, what happened to the collections when they died etc. She is really keen to find inventory lists of collections from private houses or religious institutions, she has found numerous secondary research that mentions these particular inventories but actually wants to view these original documents. We have found some information on British History Online and it seems that the London Metropolitan Archives holds some content. Has anyone come across a similar query before or has any knowledge of digitized collections that might hold something similar, failing that an institutions that would have the original content that she could go and visit.
