Dear Gemmers
A few years ago I built a working model of an hydraulus, a Roman water-organ, for the Roman Baths Museum in Bath.
When it was done I got a young man called Alexander Henshaw, a friend’s son, and a talented organist, to come and play it for the Museum.
Alexander is doing all the fancy stuff: I’m just working the bellows - about my limit, musically.
This instrument is still going strong and gets regular use by the museum’s education dept in workshops for children, and also for older adults.
Hope this cheers up a cold and frosty morning
Enjoy
Richard.
