Laura

The National Children's Bureau have been working from their outset on children and young people led campaigns.  I worked there for 5 years and in that time there was something going on every week, so they will have a huge history and experience in such matters.  I recall being involved in a campaign around democracy, another about the digital divide, another about children's right to roam and independent mobility and there were many many more. The latter was supported by the Department for Transport (or whatever it was called then)

Once I left, I was also involved in No Lingering in Lewisham - also cyp led about dispersal orders and children's rights to use the public realm, and how they are viewed as perpetrators of crime rather than potential and actual victims.

Best, Andrew

Hello

We  have recently opened our exhibition called Changing Lives: 200 Years of People and Protest in Sheffield. We are running a half term event that will look at how children have campaigned for and achieved change. We know that there must be many stories of children and young people campaigners but can’t find many apart from Malala Yousafzai and Lucy Gavaghan who campaigned to stop Tesco selling caged eggs.

Please help us out and send us your inspiring examples and stories of young people and children campaigning for change!

Thanks
Laura
