Isn’t it possible that the Windrush arrived one day, had to be refuelled, cleaned, cargo etc loaded and then the passengers? Could take a couple of days

I'm surprised what I thought was a straightforward issue has several "answers" :-)

There are those who think it was May 27, and as you know books and the internet are awash with May 24 as the date.

I'm contacting the Gleaner in the hope that they have a contemporaneous report that points to the date of departure.
