Dear List Members,
This Friday 23 February from 10:00 – 17:00 is the Performing Archives Colloquium, organised by the Foundling Museum, British Red Cross, Garden City Collection and the University of Lincoln, which
will bring together artists, museum curators, archivists and academics to explore the use of performance in relation to archives to provide a deeper knowledge and understanding of varied methodologies, events and contexts through an arts based and interdisciplinary
approach.
The colloquium will include:
·
Keynote presentation addressing contemporary debates and best practices within the field of Applied Performance
·
Walk exploring Letchworth in relation to the Garden City Collection archives
·
Performances based on the use of archives as empirical material for documentary and verbatim performance
·
World café providing numerous case studies
Case studies will be presented by invited museums, universities and theatre representatives to explore the potential of performing arts projects as a forum for new ideas, discussions of past/current
projects and potential issues or debates. The colloquium will open up a dialogue between participants to potentially collaborate on future projects.
This is a free event, but registering is essential. Full details of the day can be found
here.
Best wishes,
Annabel
