The Adamson Collection - by Richard Everett of The Wellcome Collection

Dear all,

*with apologies for cross posting*

I thought list members would be interested to know that the next Genus Digitisation Workshop is now open for registration for 14th March 2018.

Workshops are free to attend for those working in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives & Museums sectors, including trainees & volunteers.

We are also pleased to announce that this workshop will include a presentation on The Adamson Collection by Richard Everett from The Wellcome Collection. Richard is the Head of Photography & Imaging Manager – Digital Engagement, Culture & Society. He will discuss not only the technical issues with digitising this unique collection, but the whole approach to capturing the story behind this collection digitally.

If you know of anyone who is looking to gain some extra knowledge, please feel free to point them towards the registration page.

Many thanks

Hayley Kilmurry

“At the end of last year the final art objects held by the Adamson Collection Trust made their way into the care of the Wellcome Collection Library. These art objects were created by people who lived in European mental asylums between 1946 and 1981 and gathered together by Edward Adamson, the first art therapist to be employed by the NHS"

Richard Everett will discuss not only the technical issues with digitising this unique collection, but the whole approach to capturing the story behind this collection digitially.
