Hi Corrine
Can I ask please where this guidance is located? Or, is it possible to circulate? We are also considering full on-line enrolment this coming September and are
keen to understand and comply with SLC requirements. We have requested this from them but nothing has been forthcoming!

Yes, the SLC guidance states “In order to ensure that maintenance payments are only made to those students entitled to receive payment and to minimise
the risk of fraud, HEPs should only confirm registration when they are confident that the student has properly registered for the coming session. For new students this would normally be after the institution has had face to face contact with the student.”
Kind regards,
Corrine

Hi
Does anyone know the wording of the actual regulation/requirement that we are all attempting to adhere to?

Hi David,
We will only confirm registration if the student has scanned their smartcard at one of our on-campus stations.

Subject: Enrolment of New Students
Dear all
One of those issues that keeps coming back is whether or not there is a regulatory need to physically see new students before confirming attendance.
I would be interested if anyone has gone down the road of a wholly online process for Home/EU students and whether they have had any issues as a consequence, especially if they have
had a HEFCE audit.
If people do not want to reply to the list then please email me directly and I will publish anonymised responses.
Thanks
David
