Research Associate in Physical Chemistry, - Ref:1709716 

Chemistry Department, University College, London

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work in the Department of Chemistry at University College London on a project supervised by Stephen Price The project involves the development of a new piece of high and ultra-high vacuum experimental apparatus to investigate the interactions of radicals with surfaces. The apparatus involves the generation of ion beams, laser-ion interactions and surface science. 

The appointee will have experience of working in a research environment in experimental physical chemistry/chemical physics and expertise in one or more of the following: ion beam techniques, electron-molecule interactions, ultra-high vacuum techniques, laser-molecule interactions. The successful candidate will also have a PhD in Chemistry, or a related subject, or will have submitted their thesis prior to taking up the position.

The post is available for a period of 36 months initially.
