Dear all,

Social Policy Association Opportunity Grants

The Social Policy Association (SPA) is pleased to announce the launch of the next round of SPA Opportunity Grants.  All current members of the SPA can apply by submitting a maximum of two sides of A4 outlining the plans and costs of the proposed activity.  This should be emailed to Steve Iafrati, the SPA grants officer, at [log in to unmask]

The closing date is Friday the 30th of March 2018

The maximum grant is £2,000, which can be used to fund seminars, workshops and other activities linked to research, learning and teaching.  Examples of previous grants are on the SPA website, where you can see some of the excellent projects that have been funded.

The grants are a good way to support events with policy makers, fellow academics and those working within social policy.  The applications will be assessed by a panel of SPA Executive members according to the following criteria:

·       The extent to which the proposed activity is well planned and deliverable

·       Evidence of the proposal’s need and/or demand

·       Lasting or ongoing benefits or outputs

·       The proposal’s fit with the SPA’s focus and goals?

·       The extent to which the application offers value for money?

For this round, the SPA will be giving priority to postgraduate research students and early career researchers.  If you fit into one of these categories, please mention this at the start of your application.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Regards

Steve Iafrati

SPA Grants Officer
