Hi Gail, Marcello
I’m also a PhD student in my third year, using realist evaluation/ synthesis to study Community Navigation (essentially social prescribing)
within the VCSE sector looking specifically at how this service promotes wellbeing.
I’ve been following Sonia’s CAB work with interest, and looking forward to reading Marcello’s article.
I’m not sure how much I can help, but very interested in connecting and hearing more about your PhD study. Perhaps you could drop me
an email individually?
Best wishes
Rebecca

HI Gail,
This gives me the perfect opportunity to promote my own work as I just published a realist evaluation of social prescribing which is
very much about the VCSE sector.
Also please see the other articles attached which may be tangentially important to your topic.
Good luck
Best
Marcello

Subject: Realist evaluation in the VCSE sector
Hi all
Just to introduce myself, I have just started a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University and I am researching evaluation methodology relevant to person-centred intervention within the voluntary,
community and social enterprise sector (VCSE). I have started to learn about realist approaches, and am booked onto the CARES course in London in February.
I wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of good examples of realist evaluation/research within the VCSE sector? Or if there is anyone out there working in a related field who would be
interested in connecting?
I would love to hear from anyone who could help!
Best wishes
Gail
