Hi Ricardo,
There is quite a lot of design research material out there on different
aspects of design decisions - starting most strongly in the late 80s.
The advertising world statistical literature on design is strong. More
recently, Google has a lot of new work on statistics of aspects of visual
design. Then there is Robert Mercer and Robinson's work on human decision
making - dark web stuff. There is neural net analysis in decisions in
architecture and a wide variety of other design fields from the late 80s.
Early statistical work on behaviour (human and animal) goes back to Darwin
and before.
Nielsen Norman group of course offer the usual of your list of statistics on
UX design issues (Alertbox). The solution space design literature also goes
down the statistical path.
Regards,
Terry

Subject: Inferential statistics applied to design

Hi fellows,

I would like to know:
Is there anyone here interested on applying inferential statistics to study
design issues on typography, comprehension, interaction, human behavior or
on something like that?

As inferential tools I mean:
linear regression,
multivariate statistics,
factor analysis,
cluster analysis,
logistic regression with chi-square tests and so on?

I am interested on using some of the econometric tools already used on
Economics, for example, to approach design issues.

It would be nice to keep in touch with researchers that have a similar
interest.
