For 2018 we have updated our award categories <http://bufvc.ac.uk/events/learningonscreen/awards-categories> to reflect the many growing innovations in educational media.

Since 2005 we have showcased the very best of educational television, recognised the valuable moving image output of the UK’s leading universities, and provided a platform for a generation of upcoming student filmmakers. For our fourteenth year we have revised our awards categories to reflect the latest developments in educational film and media, with new awards for audiovisual essays, student use of archive material and cutting-edge online resources.


Our brand new categories for 2018:

Online Education Resource Award
Promotional Film Award 
Educational Film Award (universities and colleges)
Educational Film Award (arts organisations, charities, museums)
Broadcast Award  
Archive Award
Audiovisual Essay Award
Student Production Awards
Student Further Education (including school sixth form) 
Student College Higher Education
Student Undergraduate
Student Postgraduate Award
Student Documentary Award (FE, UG, PG)
Nominations will be announced in February and our winners will be unveiled at our ceremony at the BFI in April in London.
