Dear colleagues,

On behalf of Dr Leo Berkeley and colleagues from the Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA), I'm pleased to announce the second issue of Sightlines: Filmmaking in the Academy.

http://www.aspera.org.au/research/sightlines/journal-2017/

This issue features 12 films as research, with accompanying research statements by the filmmakers - and, importantly, open peer review (with some responses to those peer reviews). The open peer review process was designed to further conversations about filmmaking/screen production as a research practice, where - through ongoing dialogue - ideas around 'what is this type of research?' and 'what does a filmic contribution to knowledge look like?' can be unpacked and refined.

We hope you enjoy the films and reading about their research intentions.

Best wishes,
Craig
