UWL Library Services has recently been awarded Customer Service Excellence accreditation; national recognition of the high quality of the services we offer to students, academics and researchers.  We are seeking a full time Campus Librarian to manage our Reading site library and to provide academic support and liaison to students, academic staff and researchers of the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Health based there.
You will manage the operational environment of our Reading campus library ensuring the delivery of an effective, efficient and high quality customer experience for users of the service. Additionally, you will deliver a range of support services, teaching and collection management to support teaching, learning and research activities for the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Health.  The role is split in a 60:40 ratio between Customer Experience and Academic Support and you will undertake a range of professional duties alongside members of both teams based at Reading and at our Ealing site including line management of a full time Customer Experience Assistant based at our Reading site and additional management and supervisory support of the CE team based at Ealing.
 
The successful applicant will be professionally qualified in library or information studies and committed to providing a high level of customer service, collection development and liaison work.  They will have experience of managing or supervising staff and be a good team player with excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills.
 
This is a full time position working Monday-Friday, 35 hours a week with occasional weekend and evening working where required. Although based at Reading, the postholder is expected to travel to our site at Ealing on a regular basis.
 
Annualised hours will be applied to this role and staff may be requested to work outside of their usual pattern where required in the interests of maintaining the service.
