A Leverhulme-funded studentship is offered at Cardiff University in collaboration with UWE Bristol, to examine microstructures created by impacts of bullets on stone in the context of heritage protection. Samples will be generated by ballistics tests at the
Cranfield Ordnance Test & Evaluation Centre, in order to determine the parameters controlling the extent of damage and the underlying deformation mechanisms.
