You could contact Nic Skipper, The Education Coordinator at the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences in Cambridge for some ideas- she has a range of fossil activities both taught in the museum and for outreach, including some early years resources, and a great deal of experience teaching cross-curricular content using fossils. National Museum Cardiff run some really interesting Fossils sessions, including a dinosaur sounds orchestra! Great North Museum Hancock in Newcastle also run a good Fossils session, as does OUMNH- look for information and contacts online. Three other museums services I work with run fossil casting as an activity; this is great if you don't have a great deal of objects because you can make a classroom museum and use this cover nomenclature and description plus some museum skills. ESTA, the Earth Science Teachers Association, offer some classroom resources that you could have a look at to adapt, or suggest to teachers to supplement your activities. These have the advantage of being kept up to date for the curriculum and around research.
