27th February 2018
Creating a model for active adult engagement in small/medium sized museums, Clifton Park Museum, Rotherham.
Over the past few months Christine Evans (Project and Development Manager) visited The Ashmolean, Great North and Experience Barnsley museums and carried out detailed desk research to evaluate current successful practice in larger museums. The aim was to create a model for adult engagement that could be transferred to Clifton Park Museum and other small to medium sized museums. Hear about her research, discuss new models of engagement and develop your own practice during this session

9th March 2018
Engaging Schools and Families with Local and Sensitive Histories as a City of Culture, Wilberforce House Museum, Hull.
Reaching the end of the City of Culture year, the Heritage Learning team wanted to see what role heritage and local history had played in Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture in 2007, find out what the lasting impact has been and what lessons they could learn in terms of ensuring a legacy. The team wanted to use this research to inform planning of a place-based Curriculum, the schools provision generally as well as programming for families. In November, two members of the team took a trip to Liverpool to observe sessions and speak to members of the Education team. Explore and discuss their findings at this participatory event.

Booking details to follow.
