Dear all

For those of you based in Wales, or heading to the DCP conference, or anyone else interested in a community and social approach to mental distress, come and see Zoe Murtagh, Steve Killick, Gwynneth Lewis, The Amber Project, Celf of Gwympas, gobscure and The Circle of Life and Change at the Psychology Fringe festival - Two evenings putting mental health at the heart of the arts on Wednesday 17th & Thursday 18th January, in Cardiff. These events are all free, and kindly supported by the DCP.

The festival will be followed by the third 'Beyond the Therapy Room' conference on Friday 19th; this time focused on work with children and young people and how we can work in innovative and creative ways to improve well-being at broader, societal levels. Following sold out conferences in London in June 2015 and Liverpool 2017, Beyond the Therapy Room (#BtTR) is back with an event in Cardiff, in collaboration with the Clinical Psychology Fringe Festival and the Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP) annual conference.   Beyond the Therapy Room will be held on Friday 19th January 2018. The conference will focus on ways in which health professionals and services can improve physical and emotional wellbeing and help to build a more psychologically caring society, in broader ways than traditional 1-1 psychological therapy.   This year we have decided to focus the event on children and young people, with an exciting line up of speakers discussing innovative practice – highlighting ways in which we can improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people at broader levels.
