CALL FOR PAPERS Annual UK Punic/Phoenician Network Graduate Workshop, Friday 20 April 2018, University of Liverpool

The UK Punic Network Graduate Workshop creates an opportunity for graduate students working on Phoenician and Punic topics at Masters and Doctoral level to meet and discuss their work with students and staff with similar interests based at other universities. It has taken place in the past at Glasgow University (2009, 2011), Oxford University (2010, 2013, 2014, 2017), Durham University (2015), Bristol University (2016), and in 2018 will be hosted at the University of Liverpool

The Workshop is scheduled to take place on Friday, 20 April 2018 at the University of Liverpool (exact venue tbc) 10am to 7pm.

In keeping with the Workshop's tradition, there will be two types of presentations: one of c.20-25 minutes to report on research that is well underway or (nearly) completed, and one of c.5-10 minutes to signal work that is just beginning, or to try out specific ideas.

Those interested in presenting work should send a title and an abstract of up to 250 words by Friday, 2 March 2018, and indicate whether the contribution is a longer or shorter paper. Those interested in just attending the workshop should contact us to register by the same date, as space is limited.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day, but we are unable to assist with travel or (if necessary) accommodation expenses. UK-based graduate students are reminded that they can apply to the Wiedemann Fund for assistance with travel expenses (http://www.thomaswiedemann.org.uk/).
