Faculty of Medicine - MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit

An opportunity now exists for one or more statisticians to join a friendly team at the Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit (LEU) in Southampton (under the directorship of Professor Cyrus Cooper). The LEU aims to understand the environmental causes of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis, and to develop strategies to prevent these disorders. The postholder would be expected to work mainly in bone and joint disease, body composition and work and health.  
You should possess an MSc or PhD or equivalent professional qualification in statistics or a related discipline. You will be involved with the analysis of large and complex datasets using appropriate statistical techniques. Experience with SPSS, Stata or R would be desirable but not essential. 

This is a full or part-time position for two years on a fixed term basis in part to cover maternity leave. Salary will be in the range of £29,799 - £36,613 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience. Applications for full or part-time hours will be considered.
