PhD student and postdoctoral positions
Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Leipzig, Germany

Applications are invited for PhD student and postdoctoral researcher positions in the Pain Perception group headed by Dr Falk Eippert at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany. The aim of this research project is to understand how the experience of pain is constructed from the interaction of noxious input and expectations/predictions about pain. This work will involve the use of high-resolution fMRI (as well as EEG and MEG) in combination with computational models of learning and perception at all levels of the central nervous system, with a special focus on the spinal cord. The positions are funded by the Max Planck Society and the European Research Council.
