We do every 3 months for blunder traps, unless a problem has been previously noted.

Subject: Frequency of IPM monitoring

Dear all,

How often does your museum carry out its IPM monitoring (checking blunder traps etc)?

I’ve been asked to re-implement an active IPM program at my current museum (following a staffing gap); having looked at the handover documentation it seems like previously checks were done every month, and as far as I know there’s no history or any problems. My previous workplace did it ever quarter so I’m just interested to see if there is a general consensus on what the ‘right’ frequency for doing so is! Googling has only produced a lot of documents saying that traps are ‘checked regularly’…

Many thanks,

Lowri
