The House of Lords Library has two cataloguing vacancies, one full-time on a fixed-term contract of two years, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency, the other a permanent part-time position of 4 days a week.

 

Principal tasks include: the production of accurate, consistent and relevant records based on a knowledge and understanding of RDA, AACR2, LCSH, DDC23 and MARC21; assistance in the development of appropriate cataloguing policy and maintenance of manuals; monitoring and advising on new cataloguing developments; assistance with the administration and development of cataloguing functions in Koha, the Library Management System; answering enquiries and loaning material on the Library Information Desk.  In addition, the part-time post-holder will have some regular responsibilities in the areas of collection evaluation and the marketing of resources.

 

The starting salary is £30,150 p.a. (pro rata for the part-time post).  Evening desk duties may be required, for which an additional allowance is payable. For full details, and to apply for the roles, please click here.
