There is also the really useful ‘Teaching Approaches Menu’ resource developed by Sheffield Hallam a couple of years ago: https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/shutel/files/2014/10/TeachingApproachesMenu_full_version07external.pdf

A nice example of the pedagogy-first approach us Learning Technologists strive to hold on to!

Kind regards

Thanks Nick,

This looks really useful. I love the division of starters, main courses and deserts. I’ve also seen the ETC Toolkit (https://www.etctoolkit.org.uk/) which takes a similar approach.

Does anyone know of anyone know of any cookbooks that have a technology focus?

Hi Marieke,
I know there was Celia Popovic's 'Cookbook' which was updated recently. http://teachingcommons.yorku.ca/educational-developers-cookbook/

That might be worth a look. I'm sure there are other similar sites too.

Best Wishes,
Nick

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started as a Learning technologist at the Royal Agricultural University. It’s a new role and it is clear that in the past there hasn’t been a particularly strategic approach to use of technology in the classroom.

One of the first things I plan to do is observe some lessons and identify good practice and areas that need more support. I would then like to create some sort of ‘lesson bank’ that academic staff can refer to which will help them with ideas. This would be a mixture of approaches, tools and good practice case studies from within the institution.

Has anyone done this before? Are there any good resources that I could use for a starting point?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Marieke
