We've had extra time come through without adding it when booking but they had previously had it for GCSEs. We don't have a Normal way of working for Functional skills so this is really annoying and random it doesn't happen all the time.

Please remember students need to bring Photographic ID to exams. No ID - no exam

As I understand it you don't need to apply in advance for 25% extra time at all for POP exams - you just complete a Form 9 and book the extension of time when booking the test. You have to apply for other arrangements such as a reader through the Edexcel online BTEC access arrangements tab.

For paper based BTEC exams you apply for all access arrangements through the JCQ AA online site.

Hope this makes sense

Hi Lorna

Really interested by your response about extra time. When I made my initial call yesterday I was told that I had to apply for ET on Edexcel Online. I queried this and the advisor spoke to Special Requirements to clarify and said that her initial information was wrong and ET should be added by just ticking on EOL when making the booking. What doesn't make sense is that I haven't applied for any extra timers just doing FS via AAOL and some of the candidate's ET shows on Invigilator Dashboard and some candidates' doesn't.

Has anyone seen any guidance which details this 'potential' need to make ET applications on AAOL and or Edexcel Online??

Best wishes

We share your pain! We had lots of issues last week with extra time not appearing for BTEC pop exams - you have to apply for these via AAOL and via EOL plus you have to tick the 25% box yourself now when booking the external assessment on EOL (which you never used to have to do).

Regards
Lorna

Hi Lisa (and everyone else)

How are you doing with POP now? I am feeling *emotional*.

We are testing FS all week and have discovered that POP is quite random about who it provides the extra time to and who it doesn't. We booked the tests with ET on Edexcel Online and then only some of that filters through to POP when the tests are packaged and downloaded. It's the latest in a long line of problems we have had so, like Lisa, I would be interested to hear whether others are having similar issues.

Kind regards

Is anyone else still having issues with POP exams?

We are specifically having issues with functional skills, all the BTEC exams seem to be working ok.

We are using the most up to date software and have done everything they have suggested but today we seem to be having the same issues as we were previously having.

Just asking to see if we are on our own as I am sure when IT call, we will be told nobody else has the issue like we were with the A2C issue

Kind regards

Lisa
