The European Disability Forum is recruiting a Policy Assistant, Disability-Inclusive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The European Disability Forum (EDF) is a non-governmental European umbrella organisation set up to represent organisations of persons with disabilities at EU level. Its membership includes 99 member Organisations including European NGOs and National Federations of organisations of persons with disabilities. EDF's mission is to promote the equal opportunities and human rights of persons with disabilities towards the European Union.

 

EDF is seeking a Policy Assistant, Disability-Inclusive SDGs.

 

The European Disability Forum is seeking a Policy Assistant to support EDF SDGs Coordinator in advocating for disability-inclusive SDGs in the Europe.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

• knows about the rights of persons with disabilities and the SDGs
• works independently
• is flexible and takes initiative
• enjoys a fast-paced environment
• has excellent interpersonal skills
• has excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English 
• is comfortable using technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook and Twitter) and ideally knows about accessibility
• has followed trainings and studies in relevant fields
• has permission to live and work in Belgium

 

Possible tasks:

• Develop SDGs content for EDF website
• Assist with or coordinate EDF SDGs internal newsletter
• Assist with EDF social media on disability-inclusive SDGs (Twitter and Facebook)
• Support the organisation of EDF SDGs conference
• Support the involvement of EDF in the UN ECE regional forum and the High Level Political Forum
• Prepare, coordinate and disseminate information and documents about disability-inclusive SDGs (report, leaflet and others)
• Support EDF SDGs coordinator in any other tasks deemed relevant to advocate for disability-inclusive SDGs

 

Gross starting salary: 1500 € gross per month plus benefits

Contract: 6 months

Date and location of the interview: 1^st and 2^nd February, Brussels.
